Dear Sir, Madam,

My name is Raymond van Hoorn. I am 28 years old, non drinking, non smoking and born in the Netherlands. I would like to apply for a position as steward one one of the best privat motoryachts with high standards and excellent service.

After getting my HAVO diploma I went to one of the best hotelschools in The Netherlands. On school I learned to speak fluently English, German and Dutch. I also know my basic in French and Thai.


During and after my study at the Hotelschool I started for JMW in 1998 and worked there for 4 years. This agency send me to work for many 5 star hotels, famous restaurants and big catering companies. Names such as Hilton, Golden Tulip, Martinair Partyservice, Maison van den Boer and Rai catering in Amsterdam. With Martinair I worked many times for our Queen Beatrix , her son Prins Willem Alexander and many other royal families and VIPS.


After my long experience in Holland I joined in 2001 the Crystal Harmony. This ship belongs to Crystal Cruises. A company owned by NYK. M/S Crystal Harmony is rated as a Six-star operation with a worldwide itinerary, providing 1st class service and catering for 960 guest and 530 crewmembers. I worked there for 5 contracts as a waiter in the main dining room where there was only a la carte. After 3 years I joined the newest ship The Crystal Serenity in 2003 .This ship belongs also to Crystal Cruises. On this ship I worked for two contracts and took care of many famous people such as actors, celebrities and royal families.


From 2004 until 2006 I worked for many big companies I started one year in a big Conferencecentre De Ruwenberg and I ended back with JMW my previous employer. Where I worked again for Martinair Partyservice ,The Amsterdam Arena, The PSV stadium, Holland Casino.and many more important 5 star hotels and restaurants.

In 2005 I got my STCW’95 where I learned a lot about firefighting and emergency skills and how to save lives.








In 2006 in April I joined one of the Yachts of Seabourn. I joined the Seabourn Spirit. The Seabourn Cruise Line vessels accomodate 204 discerning guests in the worlds most luxurious,all suite cruise environment. Again on this vessel we had to take care of many VIPS and celebrities.During my contract I got my certificates for Basic Food Hygiene and Ships Security.I worked for two contracts on the Seabourn Spirit. I just finished my 2nd contract on the 2nd of April 2007. If I will be coming back for this company they will put me in the Training Programme for Assistant Maitre D.



It only would be a great experience for me to work on a smaller yacht.
I am available at this time.
I will be coming back to the Netherlands on the 7th of May 2007.
