YACHTING EXPERIENCE
CRUISING
1996 DELIVERY CREW
S.V. Papillon | 78ft
St. George, Bermuda to Palma de Mallorca – a stunning sloop with six other crew for a delivery to Palma. One week stop in Horta, Azores, to repair cracked aluminum mast. Managed to convince the captain to stop for 15 minutes and swim in the ocean with sea bed 5km below; an incredible experience that was not long enough in the making.

1996 DELIVERY CREW
M.V. Sea Eagle | Bertram 71ft (extended 43ft)
Fort Lauderdale to Antigua - Transponder punched holes in the hull near Turks and Caicos. Took on 10,000 litres of water overnight; we stayed afloat thanks to ballast. After a week on the island, we dry docked in St Thomas for more permanent repairs.

1995 1ST MATE (delivery)
M.V. Jami | 124ft
Palma de Mallorca to Fort Lauderdale - Great captain taught me the value of safety first when preparing the yacht for voyage.

1995 DECKHAND
M.V. Neninka (now Azzurra II) | Ancona 157ft
Antibes, through Greece to Istanbul - Responsibilities included watches, cleaning every morning, driving tenders to alight guests to and from the yacht and various islands. Unfortunately, I had fallen over the side and had to go to hospital and return to Sydney to recover.

RACING
2007 MAINSAILS
S.V. Condor | 43ft
Hong Kong - Skipper trusted with mainsail despite no prior experience. I was taught to be on the ball continuously. We came third in class of nine.

1995 HALYARDS
S.V. Sea Buscuit | Beneteau 41ft
Isle of Wight, UK, to St.Malo, France - Great support crew of 11 on my first off-shore experience. Thought I had seasickness licked until that time

1995 GRINDER
S.V. Taipan | Nautor's Swan 77ft
Southampton, UK - Prepared this new Nautor's Swan yacht for racing. The Whitbread Round the World race was nearing commencement while various Ocean One competitors were in town. I had the pleasure of being inside one of these amazing craft, as well as meeting the solo women's winner for 1993.

1995 BOWMAN
S.V. King of Hearts | Nautor's Swan 54ft
Lymington, UK - Regular racing crew on this yacht while I also crewed on other yachts between Southampton and Bournemouth.

OTHER
1994 BARMAN AT MONACO GRAND PRIX
M.V. Southern Cross III | Sterling 181ft
Monaco. Being 155ft at the time, it was an exceptional experience being a part in hosting during a charter during the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix. Formula One pilot Johnny Herbert was on board and an affable conversationalist the evening before the race as a guest.
